Nutritional Information

Rational

EON’s nutritional product enriched with major ingredients such as Curcumin and Black Seed Oil (Thymoquinone) for purpose of strengthening the immune system.

Introduction:

Immunity can be defined as the capability of multicellular organisms to resist harmful microorganisms. Immunity involves both specific and nonspecific components. The nonspecific components act as barriers or eliminators of a wide range of pathogens irrespective of their antigenic make-up. Other components of the immune system adapt themselves to each new disease encountered and can generate pathogen-specific immunity.
Immunity does not have specific symptoms. Immunity to a disease is achieved through the presence of antibodies to that disease in a person’s system. Antibodies are proteins produced by the body to neutralize or destroy toxins or disease-carrying organisms. Antibodies are disease specific. The immune system has two components: innate and adaptive immunity. The innate immunity is present in all metazoans, while the adaptive immunity only occurs in vertebrates.
The innate system relies on the recognition of certain foreign molecules to stimulate two types of innate immune responses: inflammatory responses and phagocytosis. The adaptive system, on the other hand, is composed of more advanced lymphatic cells that are programmed to distinguish between specific “non-self” substances in the presence of “self”. The reaction to foreign substances is etymologically described as inflammation, meaning to set on fire. The non-reaction to self-substances is described as immunity – meaning to exempt. These two components of the immune system create a dynamic biological environment where “health” can be seen as a physical state where the self is immunologically spared, and what is foreign is inflammatorily and immunologically eliminated. “Disease” can arise when what is foreign cannot be eliminated or what is self is not spared. Adaptive or acquired immunity is the active component of the host immune response, mediated by antigen-specific lymphocytes. Unlike the innate immunity, the acquired immunity is highly specific to a particular pathogen, including the development of immunological memory. Like the innate system, the acquired system includes both humoral immunity components and cell-mediated immunity components.

Low in immunity can lead to various types of infections which can cause various types of diseases.

Eon’s product contains major ingredients such as Curcumin and Black Seed Oil (Thymoquinone), which helps to boost the immune system.

  • Curcumin – Curcumin helps up in boosting up the immunity and helps to fight against viral replication. The immunomodulatory abilities of curcumin arise from its interaction with various immunomodulators, including not only cellular components, such as dendritic cells, macrophages, and both B and T lymphocytes, but also molecular components involved in the inflammatory processes, such as cytokines and various transcription factors with their downstream signalling pathways .Curcumin inhibits the immunostimulatory function of dendritic cells (DCs) and to interfere in the myeloid DC maturation. These effects relate to the suppression of CD80 and CD86 expression, two co-working membrane proteins that provide stimulatory signal necessary for T cell activation, and the impairment in pro-inflammatory cytokine production (IL-12) due to inhibition of MAPK (Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinase) activation and NF-κB (nuclear factor kappa B) translocation. Furthermore, curcumin supplementation significantly increased serum levels of IgG and IgM, thus suggests that curcumin can improve immune functions. The immunomodulatory abilities of curcumin arise from its interaction with various immunomodulators, including not only cellular components, such as dendritic cells, macrophages, and both B and T lymphocytes, but also molecular components involved in the inflammatory processes, such as cytokines and various transcription factors with their downstream signalling pathways. Curcumin has been found to inhibit the immunostimulatory function of dendritic cells (DCs) and to interfere in the myeloid DC maturation. These effects have been related to the suppression of CD80 and CD86 expression, two co-working membrane proteins that provide stimulatory signal necessary for T cell activation, and the impairment in pro-inflammatory cytokine production (IL-12) due to inhibition of MAPK (Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinase) activation and NF-кB (nuclear factor kappa B) translocation.
  • Black Seed Oil (Thymoquinone)– Thymoquinone (2-Isopropyl-5-methyl-1, 4-benzoquinone) is the main bioactive component of N. sativa. Thymoquinone inhibits the 5-lipoxygenase, leukotriene B4, C4, and Th2 cytokines in broncho alveolar lavage (BAL) fluid with a significantly increased number of eosinophilia and goblet cells in lung tissue. It also inhibits the expression of inducible nitric oxide synthase’s mRNA and transforming growth factor β1 (TGF-β1). Such anti-inflammatory outcome of thymoquinone is caused by increase expression level of hem oxygenase 1 (HO-1) in human keratinocyte (HaCaT), which is activated by nuclear factor (NF) via ROS mediated phosphorylation of protein kinase B (PKB) and protein kinase alpha (PKα). So, it indirectly antagonizes the side effects caused by an increase in ROS level and thus suggests that black seed oil can improve immune functions. Black seed oil activates T lymphocytes for the IL-3 release while it has no activating effect in the IL-2 release and its proteins significantly increases the amount of total lymphocytes, and it has an immune-modulating effect in both humans and animals. Black seed oil extract increases T cell population, CD3, CD4 and CD8 surface antigens and the number of immune system cells. As a reason for this increase, it was found that thymoquinone stimulates hematopoiesis and thus the immune system-related cells are affected, and the increase is shaped. In allogenic cell cultures and in vivo studies using black seed proteins, it causes large amounts of IL-1β and TNF-α expression. When activating the T lymphocytes of the black seed in the direction of IL-3 secretion, IL-2 has no activating effect towards release and their protein significantly increases the total amount of lymphocytes in humans and animals.
